HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PLAY-BY-PLAY ANNOUNCERS ARE SET FOR HEARTLAND BROADCASTING RADIO STATIONS
Zolfo Springs, Florida (July 26, 2010) - High School Football fans will be able to tune in the games on their radio in the car, in the house, or bring a portable radio to the stands! Season kicks off August 27, 2010 and Heartland Broadcasting Corporation is proud to continue full coverage of Hardee High School Football all season and adds Desoto High School Football.
Wes Roe and Thomas Trevino return as play-by-play announcers on the radio dial 106.9 WZZS-FM for the Hardee Wildcats.
Kayo Keen and Lewis Parker have come onboard with Heartland Broadcasting Corporation as the new play-by-play announcers on the radio dial 105.3 WZSP-FM for the Desoto Bulldogs. Keen and Parker are 1973 Desoto High School Alumni. For longtime listeners of 106.9 The Bull, Keen will be a familiar voice.
Through feedback from listeners and members of the community, Heartland Broadcasting assessed a community need to carry Desoto High School Football games. “The Bulldog’s will return to 105.3 FM! We will stop the music, and switch to a live high school football game Friday nights at 7:00 PM. Several years ago we had play-by-play coverage of Bulldog Football on 105.3 FM. We haven’t had full coverage of the Bulldogs for a few years, but after receiving numerous requests in the community, we are pleased to be approved by the Superintendent of the Desoto County School Board to broadcast the Bulldog games,” says Carolyn Kneller, Promotions Director. “With the help of business sponsorships of the Desoto Bulldog games, an annual scholarship will be possible for a Desoto High School Senior Athlete, just like we do for Hardee High School. So not only will we be meeting one need in the community to carry the games, but we will be building a new annual scholarship for a Desoto High School Senior Athlete, which will be awarded at the end of the upcoming school year,” Kneller added.
Heartland Broadcasting Corporation is parent company to radio stations 106.9 WZZS-FM better known as “106.9 The Bull,” and sister station 105.3 WZSP-FM also known as “La Zeta 105.3.” Heartland Broadcasting Corporation’s goal is to better serve the listener community while meeting the needs of the business community.
